Graham Dobson had a typical plan for his day- wake up, get ready and head to work. However, as he hit the road, he encountered an unexpected and gloomy sight.
While strolling down his usual route to work in Hull, England, Graham stumbled upon a boxer dog that was chained up in the middle of the road. The sight saddened him deeply, and he knew he had to do something to help the poor creature. Immediately, he sprang into action and offered the dog food, water, and companionship while waiting for the owner to return. Graham shared with the Daily Mail, “It was heartbreaking to see he had been left and how upset he was, as he was a real nice dog and so friendly. He was really scared. I don’t understand why people would just dump a dog. I love animals and don’t want to see them abandoned or mistreated.” Eventually, the abandoned pup was taken in by the Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire Boxer Rescue.
After being abandoned, a dog named MAX was taken in by a shelter. The shelter workers took his photo and shared it on social media in the hopes of finding him a permanent home. MAX’s story quickly went viral, causing many people to express their frustration with how he was treated. They commented on the post, condemning the act of abandoning animals and praising MAX’s cuteness. The shelter later updated the public, saying that MAX was placed with an experienced foster family who is helping assess and care for him. Although there were many applications for adoption, the shelter wants to focus on MAX’s current needs before making a decision.
